JBuilder 4: Installation Problem: empty "docs" and or "samples" directories
By: Josh Fletcher
Abstract: Installation problem with JBuilder 4.
|
Question:
I can't seem to find my JBuilder documentation or samples. The installation
appears to have gone smoothly but the files are missing. What can I do?
|
Answer:
Be sure to shut down ALL background processes prior to running the
JBuilder installers. Known conflicting background processes are:
- JRun: if you have JRun installed and running on your system,
please shut it down prior to running the JBuilder installs. You can verify
that JRun is disabled by checking your Task List and making sure that there
are no "javaw.exe" processes.
- Netzip: please disable this application before installing JBuilder.
- Virus checkers: please shut-down virus checking software prior to
installing JBuilder. Note that simply "disabling" the software is often not
enough as the virus software will still be resident. You must prevent the
software from loading.
