VCL Scanner 2002 Sweepstakes winners

By: Anders Ohlsson

Abstract: Thanks to all who participated in the VCL Scanner 2002 project!

Thank you very much to all who participated in the VCL Scanner 2002 project, and thanks for being Borland Developers.

With your help we collected a tremendous amount of data that will assist R&D in making good decisions in future development. You sent us thousands of different reports with data on hundreds of thousands of different applications.

As promised, we drew five random winners of product from those of you who opted to tell us who you were (so that we could send you stuff). These lucky winners were told that they won either an Enterprise product or a Professional product, and made their picks as follows. They were also kind enough to provide us with some great quotes for this article. The prizes have been shipped out and received.

Trevor Dunsford (Canada) won a copy of Delphi 6 Enterprise. Trevor says "Delphi is by far the best windows RAD tool I've ever used. The amount of quality addons available, especially the ones with source code (which are incredible learning tools), is simply amazing. This is something you just don't see with most development communities."

Jim Dodd (USA) won a copy of C++Builder 6 Enterprise. Jim says "Using C++Builder, I'm constantly able to amaze my co-workers with the speed of development and stability of applications I'm able to produce. I couldn't do it with competing C++ products."

Per H. Mxller (Denmark) won a copy of Delphi 6 Professional. Per says "I would like to thank Borland for making such great products, keep on supporting platform independency, that IMHO is the future!"

Chris Bruner (Canada) won a copy of C++Builder 6 Professional. Chris says "I hope this isn't the result of a mutated sircam virus. That's all I'd need, all my friends and relatives winning Borland products."

Wyatt Wong (Hong Kong) won a copy of JBuilder 6 Professional. Wyatt says "I am looking forward to the next version of Delphi, C++Builder which supports the Microsoft .NET platform."
