First of all from the entire Delphi team, I want to say "thank you" for
purchasing Delphi 8. Sales have been excellent, response to both features
and quality has been very positive, and momentum continues to grow. To keep
up the momentum we're committed to maintaining high product quality. So this
is just a quick note on the status of what's coming in the way of Delphi 8
updates.
We are currently putting the finishing touches on a small scope patch update
that will address several reported compiler and debugger issues. Expect this
update to be available in the coming days - not weeks. Concurrently we're
also working on a more broad scope update that will address reported issues
in additional functional areas such as the IDE, VCL.NET, ASP.NET, ECO and
dbWeb. Expect this update to be available in the beginning of March.
In the area of database drivers, this quarter we'll be adding additional
dbExpress drivers including DB2, Informix, and Sybase. dbGO for .NET (aka
ADOExpress) is a high priority that we are continuing to work on.
Also at the beginning of March we will provide additional information on
related plans around Delphi Win32 technology.
So thanks again for your valuable input in emails, newsgroups, and Quality
Central. We're listening - your feedback has a direct impact both on
maintaining high product quality and on future Delphi features.
Go Delphi!
